Skandium-Stelton-Ships-Lamp-Gear-Patrol

Stelton Ships Lamp
The Stelton Ships Lamp is a modern, minimalist take on the classic ship lamp. Finished in satin silver, the cylindrical design keeps wind out entirely. It uses kerosene or lamp oil, but it’s safe enough to be placed on a table or hung with a steel holder. $741

Nike-Killshot-Shoes-Gear-Patrol

Nike Killshot

Porsche-911-GTS-Club-Coupe-Gear-Patrol

Porsche 911 GTS Club Coupe
As Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Porsche Club of America, they’re commemorating it with a limited run of 60 special-edition 911 GTS Club Coupes ($136,060) in beautiful Club Blau paint. But it’s not just the paint job you should notice: note the black framed bi-xenon headlamps, slightly darkened taillights and black chrome exhaust tips. But the tastiest change comes in the form of the 911RS style ducktail spoiler — plain retro goodness. The 430 horsepower from the GTS’s 3.8-liter flat six remains untouched. porsche.com

Sleep-IQ-Kids-Bed-Gear-Patrol

Sleep IQ Kids Bed
At this year’s CES, Sleep Number unveiled a smart bed similar to their x12, but for kids. The SleepIQ Kids bed can be softened, firmed and be adjusted to sit up, which is great for dedicated Harry Potter readers; it has an under-bed light and, of course, sleep tracking technology. On top of that, the bed has longevity: it’ll tell parents when their kids stop jumping around or if they’re sneaking out for a late night rendezvous. sleepnumber.com

Paul-Smith-Tailored-Fit-Navy-Wool-Travel-Suit-Gear-Patrol

Booking-Now-App-Gear-Patrol

Booking Now App
In an age of travel and smartphones, it’s only natural that Booking.com, Planet Earth’s #1 accommodation site, has an app. And believe it or not, it’s super simple to use. The app uses your location to pinpoint hotels, B&Bs and more nearby — and it displays all of this on a single page. On top of that, users can check in offline to negate compiling (pricey) data charges. Free

Kalamazoo-Artisan-Fire-Pizza-Oven-Gear-Patrol

The oven can also roast veggies, bake bread and cook meat — so burgers aren’t out of the question. $6,795

FunnyOrDie-Weather-App-Gear-Patrol

FunnyOrDie Weather App
FunnyOrDie, known as the springboard for several viral videos and webseries, has released a weather app. Generally the only big difference between this one and the standard weather app on your smartphone is the inclusion of a humorous daily “weather fact”. For example: “WEATHER FACT OF THE DAY: Nobody knows what a barometer is.” Not a bad idea, considering most people check the weather every day. Free

Paul-Smith-x-Castelli-Cycling-Jersey-Gear-Patrol

Paul Smith x Castelli Cycling Jerseys
Why should soccer and football fans have all the fun? This winter, you can support your favorite cyclers as they race across the 663-kilometer Dubai Tour by wearing their jerseys. The leaders of each race classification will have the honor of wearing jerseys designed by English designer Sir Paul Smith. The fabric of each of the four Jerseys — one red, one blue, one white, and one based on the United Arab Emirates‘ flag — is ultra thin, blocking 96 percent of UV rays. So maybe wait for the summer. $106

IceMule-Coolers-Pro-Coolers-Gear-Patrol

IceMule Pro Cooler
A plastic cooler isn’t easy to carry across a campsite, so IceMule developed this one with backpack straps. The tough, waterproof Pro Cooler comes in three sizes. Its foolproof seal keeps the ice inside and air out, and the “PolarLayer” insulation can keep contents cold for up to 24 hours. The middle of winter is the best time to plan a summer camping trip; why not start with this bag? $100+

Wilson-Burn-Racket-Gear-Patrol

Wilson Burn Racket
Power and spin — that’s what this tennis racket line is built to deliver, and it needs people who know how to wield it — people like Kei Nishikori, who will be using the racket to face off against Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. The stiff carbon fiber frame and longer handle allow for improved feel and leverage on two-handed backhands. It will be in stores mid-February — so you’ll have a while to practice for the U.S. Open. $199

Stance-NBA-All-Star-Edition-Socks-Gear-Patrol

Stance NBA All-Star Edition Socks

While the “All-Star Maps” sock is made more for style, the other two are made for the game: Denser weaves in strategic areas help cushion your step while mesh vents and a wicking polyester blend help keep the feet cool. $18+

WhiteAlbum-App-Gear-Patrol

WhiteAlbum
They may have stolen the name off the Beatles’ album, but we won’t hold that against them. This iPhone app from Mint Digital calls back to the era before digital cameras, when you couldn’t look at a photo two seconds after you take it. You take 24 photos (which you can’t review) and they’re eventually sent to your door. Unfortunately, this means you might develop some out-of-focus photos, but it does save you the time of selecting and editing. $20 for 24 photos

2015-Shelby-GT-Gear-Patrol

2015 Shelby GT
The new 2015 Shelby GT is the latest muscular Mustang release, bowing at Barrett-Jackson in Arizona with 627 horsepower from its 5-liter Coyote V8 and complemented by Ford Racing Performance parts, Shelby enhancements and aftermarket niceties like a high-flow Borla exhaust, huge WELD Racing wheels and Wilwood brakes. It also gets carbon fiber aero bits and beautiful (if unnecessary) grille trim in fancy billet aluminum. What will all this cost you? About $40K on top of a $32K Mustang GT as the foundation, for a minimum of $72K. But you can, of course, spend more to squeeze 700 horsepower out of your ‘Stang. shelbyamerican.com
