NASA invited four people to spend 378 days as Martian colonists, except that they’ll be doing so inside a 1,700-square-foot warehouse at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. One potential problem the organization wants to study is the trauma of isolation. Is it possible to survive the harsh conditions of Mars while reckoning with the very real human condition of being lonely?

A Hot and Cold Cooler
