Tucked away in an industrial building on the west side of Manhattan, conveniently situated on the bike path, lies Roula Cycling — New York’s premier cycling concierge service. The company launched in the summer of 2018 with the aim of catering to discerning and passionate traveling road cyclists. How? By providing access to high-end road bikes, domestiques and even foldable Brompton commuter bikes if your two-wheeled adventures require a bit less lycra. And if you can’t make it out to Roula’s location next to the Classic Car Club, they can even have bikes delivered to your hotel room. They offer weekly group rides for those based in and around New York City (those from outside the area are welcome, too). At Roula’s HQ, they have a fully functioning cafe and cafe menu, all of the fuel and supplements you need to take on your ride and professional bike mechanics on staff.
As for the spread of bikes on offer to take out on a ride, the crown jewel is the Pinarello Dogma F12. The bike is the peak of road bike performance and was developed alongside Team Ineos — a dominant force on the world tour of pro cycling. The F12 was even piloted to the yellow jersey by Team Ineos’s Egan Bernal in this year’s Tour de France. The F12 was designed to increase rider performance, offering a 7.3% overall drag reduction equating to an 8-watt power saving at 40km/h over the previous F10. This is not only due to the totally integrated cockpit, but also the asymmetric shaping of tubes that Pinarello is known for. The brand uses some of the highest-quality materials in existence to craft each of the F12 frames including Torayca 1100 1k carbon fiber — also known as “dream carbon”. Pinarello also hand-paints each of its Dogmas to perfection.
