But sometimes there are extra special things that truly demand your attention. So at the beginning of each week, we’ll let you know about the best of these that should be on your radar.

Product Releases

Gear Patrol Tote 2.0

A reader favorite, the tote is still constructed using 18oz durable duck canvas with a reinforced bottom to withstand even the hardest of daily use, but we’ve added a few features. There’s now a padded sleeve that holds a 15-inch laptop but is flexible enough to accommodate oddly shaped items like cameras. We’ve also added a snap closure at the top of the bag, as well as a hidden magnetic closure to the interior slip pocket. Still made in North Carolina, still a Gear Patrol go-to.

686 Toolbelt Update

Everyday carry is all about getting the most utility out of the items you have on your person day in and day out. For those looking for a belt that is more than a belt, 686 is overhauling its innovative Toolbelt line. Established over 25 years ago, the 686 Toolbelts offer the benefits of carrying a multi-tool without the weight or pocket lump — the buckles detach to reveal screwdrivers, wrenches, bottle openers and more.

Sales

Burrow Tiered Savings

Burrow’s couches are the exact reason the internet exists — you get a good product that was rethought in terms of production and how they can make it better and save you money. If you’re in the market for a new piece of furniture (they make chairs, too) the brand’s tiered sale starts up Saturday, August 24. The savings system is as such: Spend $500, save $50; spend $1,100 save $150; spend $1,500 save $250; spend $1,800 save $350; spend $2,100 save $450; spend $2,600 save $600. Those are some solid savings for an investment piece like furniture.

Dates: August 24 – September 9
Location: Burrow’s website

Patagonia 50% Off Past Season Products

If you love the idea of Patagonia’s mission and its products but find it difficult to shell out $80 for a flannel, then its past season sale is something you should jump on. There’s plenty of great savings to be had (like ~$80 off the Nano Puff Jacket) but definitely be quick because this sale tends to see items go fast.

Dates: Runs until September 4
Location: Patagonia’s website

Drop Audio Bundle Deal

Drop is dropping (sorry, not sorry) a pretty legit package deal for two of the best wireless ANC over-ear headphones: the Sony WH-1000XM3 and the Sennheiser HD 6XX. Combined these two headphones will typically run you close to $600, but Drop is selling them together for only $400. This bundle deal is limited to only 300 and will go incredibly fast after the 9 p.m. EST drop.

Dates: August 19
Location: Drop’s website
Price: $400

Backcountry’s Semiannual Sale

This is a banner week for those searching for outdoor deals. Backcountry is also running its Semiannual Sale which sees gear from Mammut, Marmot, Columbia, Arc’teryx, Prana, Patagonia and others discounted up to 50 percent off.

Dates: Until August 22
Location: Backcountry’s website

Events

Watches Online: The Driver’s Collection

This droolworthy vintage watch auction started back on August 14 but it wraps up on August 20 and is worth bringing to your attention again. 18 incredible (and mostly vintage Rolex) watches curated by Bob’s Watches and Sotheby’s are up for auction. Themed around a driving watch, many of the vintage timepieces have some large or small connection to the automotive world. If nothing else, the watches are grails worth taking a look at before they find their next homes.

Dates: Closes August 20 at 12:00 p.m.
Location: Sotheby’s website

Note: Purchasing products through our links may earn us a portion of the sale, which supports our editorial team’s mission. Learn more here.
