The Legacy of the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Continues

The 1960s was quite the era. For Oris, the decade was when the Swiss watchmaker, founded in 1904, came into its own. One of its most significant moments happened in 1965, when Oris launched its state-of-the-art diver’s watch, the Divers Sixty-Five. It came with a unidirectional rotating bezel, luminescent numerals, and water resistance to 100 meters.

Oris revamped the Divers Sixty-Five with modern updates that include a 40mm case made of an anti-corrosive stainless steel and a sapphire crystal — a vintage-inspired bubble-curved glass with anti-reflective coating on the inside to reduce glare and increase readability underwater. Simply put, it’s a masterly ode to the original by way of 21st-century watchmaking techniques.
