Here at Gear Patrol, our editors find, research and review literally hundreds of new products a year. And we love putting them through their paces in the environments for which they were designed — be that a home office, kitchen, weight room, the streets or a backcountry trail.
But that’s only half the job.
After we pick ourselves up and dust off our jackets, our team compiles a huge list of candidates and debates like crazy for months on end. The result? One mighty roundup of the most important stuff of the year. Welcome to the GP100.
For the 2023 edition of our iconic franchise, now in its 11th year, we dialed in on innovation as the main criterion, attacking the curation by asking, “Which products really matter?”
Our editors looked beyond what simply worked well or looked good, prioritizing the gear that had an outsized impact on not just the industry but culture as a whole. Our list of winners, all released in 2023, spotlight the year’s big swings, wild ideas and bold attempts to push the product world forward.
