20 Years Later, the Cycling Bib Finally Gets a Redesign

It’s perfect for gravel riding, adventure, century rides and all-day jaunts.

Cycling bibs have remained relatively unchanged since their creation. Sure, the materials have advanced (Lycra!) and construction has improved, but they are still the same basic design. Now though, Rapha has made the most simple, most significant advancement to bib short design — the Cargo Bib. Unlike the cargo short, which offers endless function but invokes penalties on the style side, the Cargo Bib offers increased functionality without looking like you just joined the boy scouts. The Cargo Bib is aimed at the adventure cycling crowd, offering places to stash snacks, sunglasses, a cell phone, wallet and other small goods through the use of four pockets — one on each thigh and two on the back. Though they are being marketed toward the adventure category, they are also great for century rides and long weekend rides on the road.
