It goes without saying that this week marks a momentous occasion for this country. Not to compare, but this week also marks a watershed for Gear Patrol.

It goes without saying that this week marks a momentous occasion for this country.

Not to compare, but this week also marks a watershed for Gear Patrol. As you can see, we’ve taken the wraps off of our new site and it speaks volumes for itself. We’re in beta, so you’ll have to bear with us as we hammer out a few final details. One thing remains though, this site is created for men, by men and Gear Patrol will strive to deliver on our five point pledge to readers.

In this new iteration, we’ve made it easier for you to comment and converse with the readers and crew of Gear Patrol (a feature that we hope you’ll fully embrace), made it easier to see the 1200 articles(!) we’ve written to date in our comprehensive archives, and put together an unmissable featured stories section at the top of our home page.

Dive deeper into the site and you’ll find some unique elements. Click on any writer’s name to see their picture and biography, check out the site every day for new articles and our daily fact or figure in the “daily dose”, thumbs-up our articles to help spread the word about Gear Patrol through StumbleUpon, or read how Gear Patrol strives to be green with our new, carbon-neutral servers.

As with any fine drink or beautiful woman, you’ll discover more in time as you explore, but make sure and give us your feedback here. Whether they’re comments, complaints, or praise, we want to hear it. After all, this site’s for you.

A big thanks goes out to every member of the Gear Patrol team, but most definitely to Patrick Tuttle, Brian Huang, Ben Bowers, Dusty Overby, and our technical genius, Zach Ozer, who helmed us through the technical shitstorms. Now, someone pass me the bourbon.
