In the last few years, WiiM has made significant waves in the audio world by offering high-resolution wireless streaming components that were substantially more affordable than what previously existed.

For example, the WiiM Pro ($149) and WiiM Pro Plus ($219) are music streamers similar to the Sonos Port ($449). They bring wireless streaming capabilities—such as support for AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and Google Cast—to traditional hi-fi at a much more palatable price point.

And the WiiM Amp ($299) and WiiM Amp Pro ($379) streaming amplifiers work similarly to the Sonos Amp ($699), able to drive passive loudspeakers while also adding wireless streaming capabilities.

However, the California-based audio company just revealed a new amplifier that seemingly goes against its modern streaming roots and is more aligned with traditional hi-fi components of the past.

WiiM’s first non-streaming amp

Last month at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show in England, WiiM teased the Vibelink Amp, its first audio component without any kind of streaming capabilities. But it didn’t reveal any real details — or even a price.

But that changed this week.

The WiiM Vibelink Amp is a two-channel integrated amplifier with Class -D amplification. It can deliver 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

According to the brand, it has 67-percent more power than the WiiM Amp Pro, its previous most high-end amplifier.

Works with analog and digital sources

The Vibelink Amp is a flexible hi-fi component, designed to play high-resolution audio across digital and analog sources. On the analog side, it supports RCA inputs. On the digital side, it has optical and coaxial inputs.

It has a premium built-in ESS ES9039Q2M DAC that supports audio up 24-bit/192kHz. According to the brand, this allows the Vibelink amp to support “a wide range of variable sample rates and bit depths, ensuring maximum compatibility and audio flexibility.”

The one caveat is that the Vibelink Amp doesn’t have a built-in phono preamp. So if you want to connect a turntable, you’ll have to have a have an external phono preamp or have one integrated into your turntable.

Compact design, easy stacking

The amp shares a design and compact footprint similar to the company’s existing streaming amps. In the above photo, the Vibelink Amp rests underneath the WiiM Ultra ($329), its most high-end wireless streamer.

WiiM designed the Vibelink Amp with a large aluminum heatsink, copper heat pipes and a heat-spreading case “to reduce hot spots and evenly distribute heat.” This helps ensure that, even when stacked and powering high-end speakers, the Vibelink Amp won’t overheat.

If you have the the brand’s other streamers, the WiiM Pro Plus ($219), Pro ($149) or Mini ($99), the Vibelink Amp promises to pair well with those, too.
