There hasn’t been much good news regarding Sonos as of late, from the company’s widely publicized app debacle (and the fallout that has continued) to the news that Sonos’s upcoming streaming box has actually been canceled.

But, as of today, that’s changed as the multi-room speaker giant has permanently dropped the prices of several of its most popular speakers. That’s right, these are no mere sales.

The Era 100 gets a $50 price cut

The Sonos Era 100 is arguably the company’s most important speaker. It was released two years ago and replaced the One (which has subsequently been phased out) as the brand’s entry-level smart speaker.

Compared to the One, the Era 100 is a better-sounding and more versatile speaker. Its extra tweeter and larger woofer allow it to play true stereo sound with more bass. And its support for Bluetooth and USB-C line-in opens up new possibilities for the speaker — for example, it makes it way easier to connect to your computer or a turntable.

These upgrades had previously come at a cost. Sonos has been selling the Era 100 for $249 for the last two years. The One was originally $199, until Sonos increased the price to $219 in 2021.

But now Sonos has permanently dropped the price of the Era 100 by $50. It now sells the previously $249 speaker for $199.

The Ray soundbar gets an $80 price cut

The Sonos Ray is the company’s smallest and most affordable soundbar. Initially released in 2022, it’s designed for those with smaller or older TVs — it hooks up to your TV via an optical connection rather than HDMI.

The Ray works similarly to Sonos’s larger soundbars but comes with significant tradeoffs. It lacks support for Dolby Atmos and other immersive sound technologies. And it cannot function as a smart soundbar — there no support for voice assistants.

For the last three-odd years, Sonos has sold the Ray for $279 — but it has now permanently dropped the price to $199.

The Sonos Arc is now cheaper than ever

Sonos has seemingly been phasing out its once-flagship Dolby Atmos soundbar, the Arc, for the last few months — we reported in early February that Sonos had “Last Chance” listed on the Arc’s product page and had been selling the once $899 soundbar for $749 and the dropping it to $649 a few weeks later.

As of today, Sonos has dropped the price by another $100 — it costs $599, $300 less than it was selling for just a few months ago.

The introduction of Sonos’s newest flagship soundbar, the Arc Ultra, is obviously the reason why Sonos is phasing out the Arc. But, given that the two soundbar are quite similar, this is a chance to get an awesome deal on what is still a fantastic Dolby Atmos soundbar.
