Mixx Audio is a British-based audio company best known for its budget-friendly headphones, wireless earbuds and, yes, all-in-one record players.

Its latest audio package, the Mixx Analog System 5, promises to be a step above its other vinyl record players, yet it is still very affordable. It’s an ideal starter system for those just getting into vinyl.

A turntable and speaker combo

Instead of a true all-in-one record player — where the speakers, amplification, and other components are housed inside the turntable — the Analog System 5 System pairs the company’s entry-level turntable with compact powered speakers.

The idea behind this turntable-and-speaker package is that it’s a more traditional vinyl setup that’s still really easy to set up, yet sounds way better than true all-in-one turntables (which generally don’t sound very good at all).

(Note: While Mixx’s Analog System 5 System is an affordable turntable-and-speaker package, many higher-end audio brands are now also making them. If you’re looking for a more elevated package, check out our guide to turntable-and-speaker packages.)

A versatile hi-fi starter system

The system pairs the company’s Analog System 5 — an entry-level belt-drive turntable with an aluminum tonearm and an Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge (MM) — with a pair of 50-watt wireless speakers.

Both the turntable and wireless speakers are designed to be versatile. The turntable has built-in Bluetooth as well as switchable RCA and phono outputs. You can stream vinyl to the powered speakers or have them wired directly to the turntable. The phono output gives you the option of upgrading to an external phono preamp.

The speakers have built-in Bluetooth, RCA connections, and optical inputs. So if you’re not using the speakers to listen to vinyl, you can stream music to them just like any other Bluetooth speaker.
