In sports, great athletes are defined by big moments. Think back to Michael Jordan hitting “The Shot” to win the 1998 NBA Finals or Maradona scoring the “Hand of God” goal to win the 1986 World Cup.
The same could be said for the McIntosh MC3500, a single-channel vacuum tube amplifier that powered the most iconic music festival in history.

The amp that powered Woodstock
Woodstock 1969 took place over four days on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York.
Truth be told, the festival actually had humble origins, as its organizers were inexperienced and initially sold very few tickets. But some of the biggest artists of the era showed up: Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, the Doobie Brothers, the Grateful Dead, John Fogerty, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Janis Joplin.
