For a number of years now, Marshall has been making wireless speakers in the image of some of its iconic guitar amps. They have a faux leather finish, cloth speaker grille, tactile brass control knobs and, of course, the British hi-fi maker’s iconic logo front and center … but you can stream music to them straight from your smartphone.

The Woburn III is the largest, best-sounding, most versatile, and most expensive of Marshall’s wireless speaker offerings. While not exactly new — it was released in 2022 — the brand just introduced a new finish that gives it a seriously cool, old-school look.

A new, vintage look

Since its release, Marshall has offered the Woburn III in two different finishes, black or cream, but the brand has now introduced a third option — brown.

According to Marshall, the brown finish allows the Woburn III to blend seamlessly into various interiors and bring a “timeless style to [the speaker’s] signature rock ‘n’ roll sound. “

Same, big speaker

Besides the new look, the Woburn III is the same powered speaker as before. It’s a front-firing speaker with five individually amplified drivers — a six-inch woofer, two two-inch midrange drivers and two 0.75-inch tweeters — and can output a beefy 150 watts of power.

The Woburn III is a wireless speaker that streams music via Bluetooth — it lacks built-in Wi-Fi and therefore doesn’t support AirPlay 2 or Spotify Connect.

For wired connections, the speaker supports RCA and 3.5mm inputs. Most interestingly, the Woburn III also has HDMI input, so you can technically use it as a TV speaker.
