Last year, Klipsch announced its Flexus Series, a range of home theater speakers consisting of two wireless soundbars, a wireless subwoofer, and wireless surround sound speakers. In this space, they can be considered rivals to Sonos or Bose.
The most interesting thing about the Flexus Series is that every product is a collaboration between Klipsch and Onkyo — the same parent company now owns the two storied hi-fi brands. So, the range combines American loudspeaker tech with Japanese amplification tech to deliver a pretty killer sound system.
To date, there have been two Dolby Atmos soundbars in the Flexus Series, the Flexus Core 200 and Flexus Core 100. A third soundbar, the Flexus Core 300, the biggest and most expensive in the range, is “coming this winter.”
The brand’s smallest and most affordable Dolby Atmos soundbar is the Flexus Core 100. And while previously only available in black, Klipsch just introduced a new colorway that gives it an old-school makeover.
Klipsch Flexus Core 100

A mid-century modern upgrade
Since its release last spring, the Klipsch Flexus Core 100 soundbar has only been available in black. However, this week, the company released an updated model with a walnut-and-gray finish.
The design is more mid-century modern. As somebody who is fond of Klipsch’s Heritage line of loudspeakers, the wooden accents give the soundbar more of the vintage vibe that I associate with the American audio maker’s more-than-77-year history.
