Ikea’s First Post-Sonos Speaker Blends Affordability with Eye-Catching Design

In May, it was revealed that, after more than six years, Sonos and Ikea were ending their partnership and would no longer produce any more Symfonisk speakers.

This was a big deal because not only were these speakers uniquely designed — disguised as bookshelves, lamps and wall art — but they were also the most affordable Sonos speakers you could buy. They had the guts of a Sonos One and started at just $100 (although most now sell for nearly double that).

For Sonos fans, there’s no real news that can act as a reprieve, although Ikea continues to sell these Symfonisk speakers, as their stock has not yet dried up.

But for Ikea fans who love uniquely designed speakers that are easy to use and super affordable, there’s good news: the Swedish furniture giant just announced two new Bluetooth speakers for the home. And, if Spotify is your streaming service of choice, they both have a convenient feature.

First up, there’s the Ikea Blomprakt. It’s a powered Bluetooth speaker that doubles as a tabletop lamp, and it’s designed for your desktop or nightstand.

According to the brand, it features an angled top, “enabling the built-in light to be directed precisely to create the right ambiance.”

The Blomprakt is designed to be a simple Bluetooth speaker that’s incredibly easy to use. It features Bluetooth 5.3, which, as noted by The Verge, allows it to be grouped with similar Bluetooth speakers so that you can create a basic multi-room audio setup.

The Blomprakt’s one standout feature is that it has a dedicated button for Spotify Tap. A quick press and the speaker will automatically start playing the last Spotify playlist you were listening to. It works whether you have a free or premium Spotify account.

Ikea’s Blomprakt is a speaker that the brand claims “combines great sound with atmospheric lighting.”

It will be available in three colors:  beige, black and blue.

Admittedly revealed last month, the Nattbad is Ikea’s other new powered Bluetooth speaker offering. It features a unique design intended to resemble an old-school radio, blending seamlessly into your home’s decor.

The Nattbad works identically to the Blomprakt. It’s a powered Bluetooth speaker that supports multi-speaker grouping (with other Nattbad speakers) and has a dedicated button for Spotify Tap.

The Nattbad comes in three different colors: yellow, pink and black.

Price and availability

According to Ikea, the new range of speakers focuses on affordability and simplicity.

The Blomprakt speaker is the most expensive of two speakers. Ikea hasn’t revealed exact pricing information, but it’s expected to cost in the region of $120. It will be available in October 2025.

The Nattbad speaker is available now — you can order it directly from Ikea. It costs $50.
