Elipson is a heritage French hi-fi manufacturer with a history that dates back to 1938. Its best known for high-end, spherically-shaped loudspeakers, but the brand makes a variety of other audio components, too, including turntables and amplifiers.
Its latest amplifier, the Connect 2130 Xi, might not be what you’d expect from such a high-end audio brand. But don’t let its plain appearance fool you — it’s a compact beast designed for modern audiophiles with hi-fi systems in smaller listening rooms.

Hidden power
The Elipson Connect 2130 Xi is a streaming stereo amplifier with Class D amplification. It can deliver 130 watts per channel (into 4 and 8 ohms), and is best suited for driving high-end bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.
The amplifier comes with the company’s proprietary power factor correction (PFC) technology, which the brand says guarantees “harmonic distortion of less than 0.003% and a signal-to-noise ratio of over 119 dB.”
