Dynaudio is a well-known Danish hi-fi company with a history dating back to the late 1970s. It’s best known for its high-quality audiophile-grade loudspeakers, but it looks set to enter home theater market with its first-ever soundbar.

And believe us, you’ve never seen a soundbar like this before.

Hidden sound

The Symphony Opus One is a massive soundbar disguised as mid-century furniture. It has a wingspan of 73 inches and, according to the brand, is designed to pair with 83-inch TVs. It’s big.

The soundbar has an aluminum-alloy chassis surrounded by a “tactile, Nordic-inspired fabric.” However, its standout feature is its 72 vertically positioned wooden fins — each individually carved — made of Japanese white oak.

These wooden fins are closed and rest flush together when the soundbar is turned off. But when turned on, these motorized fins rotate 45 degrees open to expose the speakers inside. Of which, there are a lot.

24 drivers, 1,500 watts

Dynaudio’s massive soundbar packs 24 speakers inside, featuring six tweeters, 14 midrange/bass drivers and four subwoofers. Each speaker uses the same driver technology as the company’s flagship Confidence loudspeakers, which can cost between $13,000/pair (for the Confidence 20 stand mounts) and $50,000/pair (for the Confidence 60 floor standers).

These 24 speakers are powered by the company’s proprietary digital amplification system that can output a whopping 1,500 watts of power.

Listening options

The Symphony Opus One is a premium Dolby Atmos soundbar, but it also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming, as well as an Aux connection for listening to a wired source.

The soundbar also lets you customize your sound four different listening modes.

There’s “Authentic” for listening to a true stereo sound. “Soundstage” delivers a wider, more concert-like sound. “Immersive” is for listening to spatial audio and Dolby Atmos content. And “DeepDive” is an even more immersive sound, promising a virtual surround sound experience.

Price and availability

Admittedly, much of the other tech specs surrounding Dynaudio’s Symphony Opus One are still unknown. The company first revealed its soundbar last fall and demoed it at CES 2025 … but it’s not expected to be released until 2026.

As for price, Dynaudio is predicting that it’ll cost in the region of $20,000. So the real question is: which 85-inch TV are you going to pair it with?
