At the end of 2023, Dali announced its $60,000 Epikore 11 loudspeakers, which borrowed driver technologies from its flagship $120,000 Kore loudspeakers.

Now, the revered Danish audio company is doubling down by expanding its Epikore range to three smaller and more affordable loudspeakers — one standmount and two floorstanders — all of which have trickle-down tech from Dali’s higher-end models.

While still aimed at audiophiles with deep pockets, Dali’s new Epikore loudspeakers promise to deliver “the ultimate audio realism” at a more attainable price.

The Epikore 3 is the most compact and affordable of Dali’s new loudspeakers.

$120,000 trickle-down tech

The Dali Epikore 3 are 3-way standmount loudspeakers (stands sold separately) that feature the same Evo-K hybrid tweeter module — featuring a 35mm soft dome tweeter positioned below a planar magnetic tweeter — that’s in the company’s higher-end Kore loudspeakers.

The Epikore 3’s newly designed midrange-and-bass driver features the same second-generation Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) magnet material used in Dali’s higher-end Kore and Epikore 11 loudspeakers.

This driver has a paper and wood fibre diaphragm structure — which Dali calls its Clarity Cone Technology — designed to further dampen unwanted resonances; this is same tech found in the Epikore 11’s midrange driver.

According to the Danish loudspeaker maker, the combination of these technologies helps the Epikore 3 deliver “a high-end, low-distortion sound that brings the live performance experience right into your home.”

A sound expansion

Joining the Epikore 3 in the expanded lineup are Dali’s new floorstanding speakers, the compact Epikore 7 and the larger Epikore 9.

The Epikore 7 are compact floorstanding speakers with a 3½-way design, while the Epikore 9 are larger with a four-way speaker configuration. Both feature similar Evo-K hybrid tweeters and Clarity Cone (with SMC technology) midrange drivers.

All the Epikore loudspeakers are beautifully designed, featuring real-wood veneer and available in three high gloss finishes: black, walnut or maroon.
