Bang & Olufsen is no stranger to collaborations.

Just this past fall, the revered Danish audio company partnered with Riva, the Italian luxury yacht maker, to create special-edition versions of its Beosound 2 and Beosound A5. They were the same wireless speakers as the originals, but featured new colors and materials … and came with a heftier price tag.

Now, B&O is at it again, only this time, it’s collaborating with a new luxury brand and releasing a special-edition of another one of its standout wireless speakers.

Italian stone

The Beosound Balance Natura is a wireless speaker created by Bang & Olufsen and Antolini, the renowned Italian stone brand. It’s the same Beosound Balance wireless speaker released in 2020, but comes with a different base.

Instead of a solid wooden base of the original, the Natura version has a base that’s made with one of Antolini’s precious stones — it comes in natural quartz from the brand’s Exclusive Collection or petrified wood from the brand’s Precioustone Collection.

According to the press release, these materials “offer unique translucency and depth, enhancing the interplay of light, texture, and sound.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Antolini makes a stand — which it’s calling a “pedestal” — of the same precious material as the base. This elevates the speaker to a more natural height closer to your ears.

Danish hi-fi

As mentioned, aside from the stone base and pedestal, the Beosound Balance Natura is the same wireless speaker as the B&O’s nearly five-year-old Beosound Balance.

The wireless speaker features seven total drivers and outputs up to 850-watts of power. Unlike a lot of wireless speakers, the Beosound Balance (Natura) is a 360-degree speaker, meaning you can place it in the middle of a room as it evenly distributes sound in all directions.

The Beosound Balance supports streaming over Wi-Fi, with AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Google Chromecast all baked in. You can set up each as a smart speaker with either Alexa or Google Assistant, and thus use voice commands.

Price and availability

Bang & Olufsen hasn’t revealed pricing for the Beosound Balance Natura yet, but as you can imagine, it will be quite expensive. B&O sells the regular Beosound Balance speaker for $3,300, so you can expect the Natura to costs well north of that.

According to the brand, the speakers are made to order and pricing will be available upon request.
