Avid is a British hi-fi manufacturer specializing in high-end, meticulously engineered audio equipment, including loudspeakers, turntables, tonearms and amplifiers, all of which are designed for serious audiophiles.

And now, to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, it’s releasing its first new turntable in over a decade.

According to Conrad Mas, the brand’s CEO, the all-new Relveo turntable “embodies everything Avid stands for: engineering without compromise, enduring beauty and a profound connection to music.”

Unmistakable visual identity

The Avid Relveo is a twin-belt-drive turntable that shares an “unmistakable visual identity” with the company’s flagship Acutus turntable, which costs north of $30,000.

Like Avid’s other turntables, the Relveo has been fastidiously engineered to eliminate unwanted vibrations. The turntable has a unique design that mechanically grounds the record to the center spindle, so platter and vinyl are bound “as one” together.

According to the brand, this design ensures that vibrations are almost instantly eliminated, “lowering the noise floor and allowing a more realistic, utterly satisfying musical experience with a stunning eye for detail.”

Exceptional musicality

That said, Avid claims that the Relveo is a turntable that’s been reimagined and built from the ground up to help it “deliver an exceptional musical experience.”

The Relveo comes equipped with an even heavier precision-engineered aluminium platter — it weighs more than 15 pounds — that is “mass loaded at the edge, giving it a high rotational inertia.”

It features a newly developed conical suspension system that, in addition to further helping eliminate unwanted vibrations, promises to make the turntable easier to set up.

And it comes with a newly designed DSP power supply, which is housed separately from the turntable. This, according to the brand, ensures “precise speed and exceptional musicality.”

Price and availability

The Avid Relveo turntable can be purchased with or without its award-winning Altus V2 tonearm, which Avid sells for $2,295. The latter option affords you the flexibility to use your own.

The Relveo with the Altus V2 tonearm costs $10,995. Without it, the turntable goes for $8,995. (This means you’re actually getting a bit of a deal if you buy it with configured with the tonearm).

The Relveo is available now from the company’s website.
