Audioengine has been making some of the best and most popular desktop speaker systems for years — with its A2 line being the standout. First introduced in 2007, the Audioengine A2 was known for its compact size, big sound and relatively affordable price.
Since then, the Texas-based audio maker has released several updated versions, the most recent being the A2+ Wireless, which added Bluetooth streaming capabilities and was released in 2019.
Now, Audioengine has introduced a new and improved version of its popular desktop speaker system. And it promises to sound even better than before.
Audioengine A2+ (2025)

24-bit audio
The all-new Audioengine A2+ is the direct successor to the 2019-released A2+ Wireless. The company has seemingly dropped “Wireless” from the name, as all its powered speakers now have wireless streaming capabilities.
The big upgrade with the new A2+ has to do with its improved audio quality. The speakers are identical to their predecessors, but Audioengine has given them an improved built-in DAC and the ability to play 24-bit audio; its predecessor maxed out at 16-bit audio.
