John Kingston wears many hats — he’s a photographer, overland explorer and environmentalist, as well as the founder of Roaming Lost, an overland expedition outfit and creative agency focused on creative client work and community building. What initially began as a simple creative outlet for Kingston during a trip to Iceland soon morphed into a community of likeminded adventurers gathered around a shared love of exploration, camping, hiking, public land cleanups and more. We recently caught up with Kingston to ask him about his top overland gear essentials, which you can read in his own words below.
Selby Knife (Folsom Necker):

“This Selby knife is awesome because it’s compact and doesn’t really interfere with clothing or feel uncomfortable. But the quality is superior, and it’s nice to have a knife that stays sharp and is extremely durable. Gotta have a knife for everyday use.”
