Kind-of-Obsessed–Western-Rise-Alloy-Chinos-Gear-Patrol-Lead-Full

This is not the first time I’ve written of my praise for Western Rise pants. I have two pairs of their Slim Rivet AT and wear them constantly — five-pocket pants that are superior to denim in practically every way. After wearing two pairs of the Alloy Chino, the company’s response to semi-dressy wear, I’m convinced that they offer the best options for guys looking for everyday technical pants.

The Alloy Chino sits at the intersection of comfort, durability and practicality. They’re cut more generously than the most modern trends would dictate, and the special nylon material is flowier than even the softest cotton. This is thanks to the incorporation of Nylon Supplex, a strong fiber that’s lightweight and provides a feel that’s at once soft and feels like it could take a point-blank rifle shot. They’ve included a little stretch (four percent Elastane) in the pants as well, adding to the comfort quotient. The knees are articulated slightly by a short seam that adds structure both visually and while in motion. The fabric is dirt- and water-resistant, and in the back right feature a secure, zippered pocket.

I have both colors currently available from Western Rise: Dune, which is a very light and dusty off-white and Olive Grey, which is grey in the way wet modeling clay is grey. They’re both excellent and highly versatile. The alloy chinos do run somewhat long — I have relatively long legs and there’s plenty of break when they hit my shoes; still, the hem is doubled up to allow for lengthening should you need it. I’ve worn them in all sorts of settings, from normal work days to times when I need to look polished in a more professional setting to a weekend binge-watching session of ‘The Good Place.’

If you want incredibly versatile pants that’ll stand up to almost literally anything you throw at them while providing truly impressive levels of comfort and breathability, check out Alloy Chinos. Or don’t, and leave them all to me.
