The Japanese brand, known for its technical ski garments, has launched an understated and versatile premium clothing line.

Founded in 1958 in Toyama, Japan, Goldwin originally made a name for itself with ski sweaters. Over subsequent decades, the brand developed into one of the best performance skiing brands, and Goldwin’s outerwear has outfitted Sweden’s national ski team since 1987.

For Fall 2016, Goldwin launched a lifestyle brand that merges classic styles with precision manufacturing. The Down Mountain Coat ($1,100) utilizes two-layer Gore-Tex, Kodenshi Down and a 80-denier fabric developed for high-altitude climbing. Other notable pieces include a zip-up wool fisherman sweater ($500) and a water-repellent, breathable windbreaker ($170). The collection is an ideal blend of high-performance features, minimal Japanese design and a healthy dose of slope-side heritage.
