Inevitably during your life you will move from apartment to apartment, house to house — and inevitably, moving your furniture will be one of the biggest headaches. There are many move-friendly furnishings on the market designed to take out some of the stress of moving furniture, but they are often cheaply made and more of an eyesore than they’re worth.
Jacob May’s Nomad Table sets out to flip the script on portable furniture. The Nomad Table is the sophisticated evolution of the folding card table, available in three sizes. The legs detach completely from the main table top for easy consolidation and transport. Once the table is in its new home, a single hex key — hidden beneath a leather flap underneath the table — is required for assembly. To combat wearing out from disassembly and reassembly, all of the fittings on the Nomad Table are metal-on-metal.
The convenience of the table, however, means nothing without impeccable style, and the Nomad delivers. Constructed from solid wood and featuring a hand-oiled finish, it improves with signs of wear. Its cylindrical legs and semi-square or semi-rectangular shape make it a welcome addition to any home — and it won’t meet the same demise as your old card table when you move in with your partner.
