In November of this year, Nike launched its innovative Nike Free Trainer 1.0. The shoe has the most articulated sole of any other shoe in Nike’s Free Trainers series, including the Free Trainer 3.0 V4, Free Trainer 5.0 V6 and Metcon 1, meaning that athletes wearing it will able to feel, grip and push off the ground more effectively than before.
Weight lifters, and people thrilled by Crossfit, will be attracted to the “hexagonal flex grooves.” These grooves coat the outsole (looking slightly like octopus suckers) and give the shoe its strong grip. The Nike Free Trainer 1.0 has a 0mm heel-to-toe drop, in true minimalist style, to promote a natural style of movement. And the heel and forefoot are anatomically sculpted, providing athletes with six flex points and a wide range of motion for hard workouts with a lot of irregular movements.
The shoe’s upper incorporates Nike’s patented Flywire, giving weight lifters a snug fit and providing stability while maintaining mobility. Inside, it has a drop-in EVA sock liner. Comfortable, strong and flexible, the Nike Free Trainer 1.0 is ideal for anybody who wants to lift more, accelerate faster or get a boost when exercising indoors. nike.com
