Israel packs an awful lot of variety into 8,500 square miles of land. In the north there are vineyards and pastures; in the south, desert with sandstone cliffs; the Mediterranean to the west and the Dead Sea on the eastern border. Throughout, there are some of the holiest places for the world’s major religions — with excellent falafel at every stop. In the middle of it all is Tel Aviv, a hub of good taste, technology and progressivism that seems somehow removed from the conflict and politics that dominate the conversation about Israel. Warm days, beautiful beaches, hip nightlife, divine cuisine, great architecture and a thriving startup environment all uniquely identify Tel Aviv. On our visit we found the city to be uplifting, energetic and welcoming. Here are a few photos from the streets.
